Lindwall was Australia's most consistent, hostile bowler. He took three wickets for 13 after lunch. The New Zealander, Martin Donnelly, whose two previous knocks against Australia had not been impressive, alone played the Australian bowlin? with assurance and enterprise. He used his feet ably and several times hooked rising balls from Lindwall with an ease that few r batsmen in England have so far displayed. Donnelly batted for 85 minutes and hit five fours. He wore his New Zealand cap.
