AUCKLAND, June 4.

The men s claim for a minimum weekly wage for “slaughtermen learners was not upheld by the commissioner. The ruling is that learner slaughtermen will be classed as slaugh.ermen, but. be paid a labourer s for approximately 33 hours at 3s 7d hourly? or a weekly wage of .£5 18s for time worked on slaughtering. The union claimed that trainees should work the same hours as slaughtermen and receive a minimum wage of £6 10s. Both- parties have i the right of appeal.
