Star Club Jubilee
As one of the first playing areas of White Star Club was Dr Gaze’s paddock, now the St. James Theatte —Grand Hotel block —the club has decided to start its jubilee procession to-morrow afternoon' at 1 o’clock from the Fonblanque Strete corner. It will proceed to the Cobden Street corner and return to Victoria Square The order of the procession will be as follows: Banner carried by the patron (Mr T. Murphy), combined Granity and Westport Bands, club float, past and present players in the following order, 1898-1903, 1904-1910. 1911-1920, 1921-1930, 1931-1940, 1941-1948; float of the future; Canterbury and Buller teams; floats from other clubs; hockey and St. John Ambulance floats; marching girls; basketball team; motor cyclists; riding group. In connection with the dinner on Saturday night in the Theatre Royal, it is requested that, those members after 1924 purchase their tickets at the shop before Saturday at 11 a.m. No person will be admitted to the dinner after 6.30 p.m., the time of starting. All visitors are requested to present their tickets at all functions mentioned, including the Rugby matches, where the ticket will also take them to the grandstand. At a meeting of the general comMartin . were instructed to arrange mittee Messrs J. S. Connelly and L with the Buller Rugby Union the allocation of privileges granted to visitors. It is also requested that all those visitors who intend to make the town cruise and the country excursions, to either Denniston or Stockton on Friday, should hand in their names to the shop as soon as possible.
