PAMIR MAKING SLOW RROGRESS

WELLINGTON, June 3. The barque Pamir has been making slow progress during the last week, according to a radio message received yesterday by the Union Steam Ship Company in Wellington. This gave the day’s run at 52 miles, and the week’s run at 500 miles. The trade winds had been poor, and they now appeared to be finished. The ship s position was given as 10 degrees 39 minutes north 22 degrees 43 minutes west. All aboard w’ere well. The position, which was dated May o 0 places the Pamir about 100 nr’ef north of the equator and 600 miles west and slightly north of Freetown, capital of Sierra Leone. From the .message it appears that the Pamir is "entering the belt of the doldrums which lie at either side of the equator.
