Local Body Contributions
The Government would introduce legislation next session to validate direct contributions by local authorities to the United Nations appeal for Children, said the Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. W. E. Parry. The term “local authorities”’ would be given the widest possible meaning and would include all bodies classed as local authorities within the meaning of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, the Minister said.
