World’s Biggest Airport

(Rec 9.0 p.m.) NEW YORK June 1. The world's largest airport, at Idlewild (Long Island) was opened to-day. It cost 200,000,000 dollars, and covers 5000 acres. It was opened to enable the control tower officials and others to familiarise themselves with its operations. Commercial flights are not expected to begin until July 1. In full operation, Idlewild will have seven runways from 6000 to 9000 feet in length, and will be able to handle WOO flights daily.
