[Our own Correspondent] REEFTON, June 1. Tbss Rev. Mr Stewart, of Northern Ireland, has been appointed to the Reefton-Totara Flat Presbyterian charge. He will arrive in Reelton on June 15, and will be formally’ inducted as minister at Knox Church, Reelton, that night. • As a result of the poor street lighting in Herald Street, a resident narrowly escaped injury when he walked too near the edge of a bank and fell into the creek. ■ Residents of Reefton, who have surplus fat suitable for soap making, are requested to give their names in to either the Council Chambers or Mi- P. Salmon, secretary of the Inangahua campaign. Once a month on a date to be advertised later ,a conveyance will call on donors to receive same. Waiuta rainfall for May was as follows: No. of rainy days: 16; maximum fall: 1.52 inches (on May 30); total for May: 7.82 inches. Total number of rainy days up to May 31: 76; total rainfall up to May 31: 28.41 inches. During May 13661 tons of coal was consigned from Fjeefton. The final week’s output was 2834 tons, an increase on the previous week’s figure. In May 1947, the coal consignments totalled 13,917 tons. Wet weather in the last two weeks has caused a drop in production at open-cast mines.
