(Rec. 5.15). NEW YORK, May 31. Mauri Rose won the five hundred miles Indianapolis motor race to;day at. an average speed of 119 decimal 813 miles an hour. He set the fastest time in ihe history of the race. The previous record was 117 decimal two miles an hour established in 1938. Rose won the twenty thousand dollars first prize, and also eight thousand dollars lap money. He has now won the race three times.
