Bavaria’s Support for Social Democrats

MUNICH, May 31. The Social Democrats won a big lead in the municipal elections in American-occupied Bavaria yesterday, gaining j’.it>t over 3U per cent, of’ the total votes. The Christian Socialists, who hold an absolute majority in the present State Parliament, obtained 18.5 and the Bavarian Separatists 15 per cent, of the vote. The Communists have secured only 10.1 per cent. These results for the traditionally Conservative Bavaria, reversed the position in the April rural elections.
