GREY GIRL GUIDES TO FORM GUILD FOR EX-MEMBERS
At the monthly meeting of the executive committee of the Greymouth Girl Guides’ local association, Mrs Kitchingham presided over a good attendance of members. The secretary, Mrs Manning, reported on the visit of the World Chief Guide, Lady Baden-Powell. Reports were received from the Camping Committee, Badge Committee and Finance Committee.
The main subject of discussion was the formation of a Trefoil Guild to enable all ex-members of the movement to keep in touch and help the association in any way noossible. It was pointed ou that active members may not be members of the Trefoil Guild, the simple aim ■of which was the undertalcing of some form of service in the community wherever possible. The . proposal was received with enthusiasm, and a branch is to be formed in Greymouth with a “lone” branch in Christchurch for West Coast exmembers over there, which will be sponsored by Miss McNiven. Quarterly re-unions will probably be held. •
