The Blind Shall Have Radio Guide

LONDON, May 31. Hon. G. R. Strauss, Minister of Supply, says British scientists are trying to develop a hand radar set to aid blind people. It may take years of experiment to develop, but a start has been made. He opened an exhibition at the Government’s tele-communication research establishment at Malvern, which produced radar devices during the war. . Among devices on display is radar equipment, .which can measure th? size of raindrops in clouds which are between 40 and 100 miles away. Tnis will be valuable to pilots flying in the tropics.
