HARIHARI NOTES

[Our own Correspondent] There was a good attendance at the monthly meeting of the Harihari Women’s Institute. The delegates read reports of the Hokitika Council meeting. The monthly food parcel for Britain was taken to be packed by Mrs Wyatt. It was reported that Harihari won the cup at the Winter Show, gaining the most points in the display stall, Ross being a close second and Wataroa third. Competition results were:—Sponge drops: Miss B. Adamson 1; Mrs E. Anderson 2; Mrs D. Graham 3. Prettiest buttonhole: Mrs Wyatt 1; Mrs Chisnail 2; Miss B. Adamson 3. Darned sock: Mrs D. Graham 1; Miss B. Adamson 2; Mrs McLaren 3. Birthday buttonholes were presented to Mrs J. Searle, Mrs Hende, Mrs Clark, and Mrs Foster. A bring-and-buy realised 12s 3d.
