IS BRAZIL PLOT "SECOND BOGOTA”?
RIO De JANEIRO, April 17. The Federal Court claimed that explosions :n the Brazil Army arsenal yesterday which killed at least 25 were intended as the beginning of a Communist plot for a “second Bogota.” Forty persons were killed and 200 other were injured according to nrst casualty reports, when an Army ammunition dump 20 miles from Rio de Janeiro exploded. All traffic on the central railway which runs near the suspended. The explosions lasted about three hours and have been followed by many fires. Organised sabotage is suspected to be responsible for this and the recent series of disasters which have occurred in military establishments throughout Brazil. The police said that the communists had planned to kill the Brazilian War Minister (General Canrobert Pereira), who left the vicinity 50 minutes before the first blast. Twenty-six Communists have been arrested and the police allege that they were, “directly implicated” m the explosions.
