MOVEMENT OF RUSSAIN TANKS TO BERLIN SECTOR
LONDON, April 15
A Foreign Office spokesman, commenting on the report tha.t 100 Russian tanks have arrived in the Soviet sector of Berlin, said Russia or any other occupation Power had every right to station whatever troops they liked in their Berlin sector. „ ~ The Associated Press Berlin correspondent quotes a high British army officer as saying it was common knowledge that the Russians had considerable armour around Berlin.
Soviet Modifies Demands in Austria
LONDON, April 15.
The Soviet Government made an important concession in waiving its former insistence that the Austrian army and air force must be equipped with armaments manufactured in Austria, when the Foreign Minister’s’ deputies on the Austrian peace treaty met to-day. The concession followed a lengthy restatement of British objections. The Russians also agreed upon the draft of a letter to invite Yugoslavia to submit its views on reparations and Austria’s frontiers.
The Russians yesterday declined to discuss this subject.
