The Arab League Political Committee decided to reject the trusteeship proposal for Palestine, "unless the United Nations appointed the Arab League or one of its member States as a trustee.” The Arabs were ready to accept the truc e proposal “onlv if the Jewish terrorists were disarmed, the Haganah disbanded and its members expelled from Palestine.”

The Palestine Government closed down its motor traffic department to-day. The Post Office Department will begin closing its rural offices tomorrow and expects to close the main city post offices by May 5.
