British Doctors Stand Against State Salaried Medical Service
LONDON, April 14
The British Medical Association Council has decided to holri an immediate new plebiscite on the question of participation in the new health service which the doctors on February 18 disapproved of by 4.0,814 votes to 4735
The new plebiscite follows Mr Aneurin Beban’s assurances in Parliament that the doctors would not be compelled to accept <iU?asic State-paid salary and that the ' Government would not introduce a whole-time salaried State medical service by regulations instead of by A.ct of Parliament.
