“Ticket” for Auckland Trades Council Election
AUCKLAND, April 14. Never has Auckland’s Trade Council election been more clearly • a tussle between two opposing tickets as to-morrow night’s ballot -but in electing the executive both groups face the necessity of giving support to i ; their opponents. j This odd situation arises because! both tickets contain only six eligible candidates for seven executive seats, while the constitution provides that seven votes must be cast. The pro-C'ommuhist ticket contained seven names when nominations closed but one, Mr J. Mackie, secre-| tary of the engineers’ union, was, not re-elected as a delegate to the Trades Council and is not eligible for the council executive. The reason why the anti-Communist ticket contains only six names is understood to be that it was found at the last minute that the seventh proposed nominee was not available. ZANN PILE TREATMENT.
