“Brains Trust”: Dunedin’s first radio “Brains Trust” was on the air from 4YA at 7.30 to-night. The question master was Mr Donald McCullough, well-known as the presiding figure for similar 8.8. C. features. Others taking part were Lord and Lady Beveridge, Professor R. M. Gabriel, a Cambridge graduate and recentlyarrived Professor of Mathematics at fhe University of Otago, Mr D. R. Social Security Frauds Fines totalling £35 were imposed by Mr F. L. Walton, S.M., on a Maori Hoani Ngatai, in the police Court on seven charges of making a false statement under the Social Security Act. regarding his own and his wife's earnings. The accused had defrauded the department of £24 over two months. Last year the accused had obtained £5 19s to which he was not entitled but had refunded the sum and had been warned. —Gisborne 12.
