N.S.W. Acts Against Quackery

SYDNEY, April 14. The Government has ordered . the Health Department to investigate “medical charlatans-' and fake patent medicines, according to a statement by the Minister of Health, Mr Kelly, in the Legislative Council. He added that Cabinet would consider the departmental report as soon as it was complete. Kelly was replying to a question by Mr W. M. G. Gollan (Lab-' our), who asked if he would bring down a HiH to prevent “people, of the type of Braund” from practising. “The Braund report was not only adverse to Braund.” said Mr Kelly. “I have taken the view that there are many people operating in the community who are a menace to public health and pocket.” Mr John Braund has stated that he intends to sell the secret of his cancer “cure” and that he expects the sale to be completed within the next fortnight.
