Jet Plane’s New' Record

LONDON, April 13

A d e Havilland test pilot, John Derry, established a new record of 605.23 miles an hour for 100 kilometres (62i miles) on a closed circuit. Derry flew a de Havilland 10S experimental pet-t)ropelled plane with swept-back wings M. J. Lithgow established the previous record of 564.8 S miles an hour in February.
