BERLIN DEADLOCK OVER AIR COLLISION IS NOW REACHED
(Rec. 9.15) LONDON, April 13. A complete deadlock has already been reached at the Anglo-Russian Commission of .Inquiry into the air disaster at Gatow, Berlin, on April 5 when the British Viking airliner was lost with all aboard as the result of a collision with a Soviet Yak plane.
The Daily Telegraph’s Berlin correspondent says: “The Commission held its first session on Monday, and an official spokesman said that the meeting was “concerned purely with procedure.” No details of the meetings are to be published until the conclusion of the inquiry. But it is practically certain that no joint findings will be achieved. R.A.F. officials say air traffic between Berlin and the Allied Western Zones of Germany may have to be curtailed, because of an increase in the Russian Air Force’s activity. This is reported by the British United Press correspondent at Berlin.
The British and American air authorities have again been warned that the Russians will be carrying out manoeuvres near the Air Corridor at heights of between two thousand feet and fifteen thousand feet.
