Rugby Football

Westport Stars and Old Boys thirds, juniors and senior teams were all in action on Saturday, the three games being played on Victoria Square. Old Boys juniors defeated Stars by 14 to 9. In the senior game, Stars won by 24 to 11. The senior game was patchy, but for Stars the forwards played well, namely, the Ryan brothers, O. Walsh, Smith and Low. In their backs the players who showed out were T. Hansbv, R. Hawes and W. Cargill. Hawes scored three tries, and converted one. Cargill kicked a penalty and converted two tries. Smith got one try and Low one try. For Old Boys, C. McHerron kicked a penalty and Sullivan scored one try, and one of the backs scored a try that was converted.
