The death occurred on Saturday morning at Denniston of a wellknown and highly respected resident of Burnett’s Face, Mrs Elizabeth Logie McFadzean. A native of Ayrshire, Scotland, she was 73 years of age. The funeral takes place to-day at Orowaiti Cemetery, Advice has been received by his wife (nee Miss Gray) at Westport of th- death at Port Lyantey, in French Morocco, of Gunnar Tagestad, whose bodv was not recovered when his boat foundered and sank in rough weather. He had been-in the employ of the Marine Department at Westport before leaving New Zealand to visit relatives in Norway. He leaves, besides his wife, four young children, also his mother, two sisters, and two brothers in Norway. The Leader of the Opposition, Mr S. G. Holland, will pay his first visit to Westport on May 13 to give a speech. Westport Airways passengers on Saturday were: For Nelson. Mrs K. Masters and infant, Miss K. Masters; for Wellington, Miss C. Hall, Miss M. Porter, Miss Vaughan.
