HOCKEY Greymouth and Pacific Draw in Fine Match The West Coast Hockey Association’s 1948 season commenced on Saturday in ideal weather conditions. In the men’s section the Greymouth v. Pacific match was. an ideal exhibition of hockey at its best. Both teams gave many instances of clever stick work and a 2-all draw was a good indication of the evenness of the contest. Results: — Grevmouth 2, Pacific 2. Cobden Rangers 5, Wheelmen 2. Runanga 3, Cobden 2. The women players were keen in their first matches and good matches .were witnessed.
