It would be only the fifth crop of that size in American history, and it would be big enough to supply domestic needs for the new crop year beginning July 1 and continue the large volume of exports to the remainder of the world. The Department forecast the winter crop sown last autumn at 860,521,000 bushels, and said that a spring crop of 272,000,000 bushels is possible, making a combined production of about 1,132,000,000 bushels.
