SOVIET CHARGES AGAINST BRITISH AND U.S. PLANES

(Rec. 4.25 p.m.). LONDON, April 9. A Russian announcement, made last night, alleged that American and British planes have almost daily infringed the quadripartite air security regulations over Berlin and over the Soviet zone. Reuter’s Berlin correspondent says: The Russians stated that infringements included flights at a very low altitude over Russian airfields—sometimes as low as 500 feet. This announcement is believed, by some observers, to foreshadow an attempt to impose new traffic regulations on the British and American planes as part of a Soviet campaign to squeeze the Western Allies out of Berlin..
