Denniston Short Of Hospital Staff
lOur Own Correspondent]. WESTPORT, April 8. Difficulty of getting staff for the Denniston Hospital has deeply concerned the Buller Hospital Board and the Denniston Medical Association of late. The position has become so serious during the present week, when the services of a cook were urgently needed, that it was considered possible that patients would have to be discharged and that a pending maternity case would need to be removed to Westport. Mr. G. A. Brown, Secretary of the Buller Hospital Board, who visited Denniston was loud in his tribute to those who were at present running the hospital under considerable difficulties,* the nursing and the domestic staff alike. It is hoped that the position of cook will be filled as soon as possible to relieve the pressure on the existing staff.
