ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL Cobden Soccer Club Reformed
At a meeting on Wednesday it was decided to reform th e Cobden Association Football Club, which had been defunct during the war years, and also io affiliate to the Westland Centre. One senior, team was nominated m the competitions, while the- formation of a -schoolboys’ team was held over till the next meeting. The registered colours of the club are to be black and white. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mr W. Kells: president,, Mr J. Pollock; vice-presidents, 10 elected; secretary-treasurer, Mr D. East; Committee, Mssrs Henderson, Roach. Ewan, Laughton, R. Marley son., and W Berry; delegates to Westland centre, Messr East and Roach; club captain, Mr J. Kerr; selection committee, secretary and. captain. It was decided to form a social committee- at. the next meeting, TOMORROW’S GAMES The draw for the opening of the Westland Football Association’s competition. tomorrow is as follows:— Blackball v. Cobden at Blackball 230 p.m. Mr Fickernig. Taylorville v. Runanga at Taylorville .2.30 p.m. Mr Timlin. Greymouth v. Wordingmen’s Club at Recreation Ground 2.30 p.m. Mr Flood.-
