SPREAD OF U.S. COAL STRIKE TO NEW FIELDS

NEW YORK, April 6. The soft-coal strike spread to-da;. to the eastern Pennsylvania anthracite field. The miners reported but refused to work at the 13 colleries in this section. A preliminary chock showed that 6400 miners are idle. An official of the United Aline Workers said the stoppage was apparently in sympathy with the bituminous miners.
