COMMUNISTS HURL INSULTS AT QUEENSLAND PREMIER
(Rec. 9.30) SYDNEY, April 7 When the Premier of Queensland, Mr E. F. Hanlon, arrived by ah- at Mascot aerodrome, Sydney, to-day, from Queensland, to discuss transport problems with New South Wales Ministers, he was met by a dozen Communist demonstrators, including two women. The demonstrators him on the tarmac, pushed piacfXis Dealing slogans in his face, and yelled insults. Mr Hanlon appeared unruffled, and even smiled at some ot the sanies. When he was called “ A dirty Fascist Labour rat,” he retorted: ‘“lhe Queensland workers have had you Reds They’re going to get rid of a lot of you.” As he walked to his car, two women followed him screaming “dirty rat.” and “there goes the instigator of ‘Bloody Wednesday,’ ” When he reached the airoort building, from which the Communists were excluded. Mr Hanlon said: “There you nave an indication of what the Labour Movement has to deal with, and only our. movement can deal with it. They are representative of a foreign organisation, which has to be cleared up in Australia.”
