Safes Robbed In Christchurch

CHRISTCHURCH, April 6. On Saturday night thieves entered the home of Mr Pryce Jones at 284 Papanui road, and stole the keys of the premises of the Jones Cycle Company, at 178 High street. They then went to the Cycle Company’s premises, opened the shop door and the door of the safe, and stole about 155 Mr Pryce Jones, a proprietor of the cycle company, was at the pictures with his family when his honr was entered. Nothing else of value was stolen from the house. During the week-end the safe at. the premises of W. and T. Avery (N.Z.) Ltd., at 267 Duram Street, was forced open and the sum of HO was stolen.
