Baby’s Death By Strangulation
BLENHEIM, April 5. A 14-months-old baby, Michael John Kerwin, son of Mr and Mrs T. N. Kerwin, of Ficton, was found dead in his cot on Saturday with the looped end of an electric light ceiling switch cord round his neck. The baby was put down to rest at 10.30 a.rn. and, as no noise was heard from the room, his mother presumed lie was asleep. When she visited the room at 1.15 p.m. she found the baby face down in the cot with the light switch cord round his neck and partially suspending his body. At the inquest a verdict that deatl) was due to accidental strangulation was returned by the coroner.
