COMPETITIONS SOCIETY

The Greymouth Competitions’ Society Club held its first annual meeting last evening. There had been a very successful season and the society had a strong financial position said Mr B. M. Charteris (President). The balance sheet, read by Mr J. A. McAlister (secretary-treasurer), showed a sound credit. The following were elected as officers:—President, Mrs Charteris; vice-president, Revs T. G. Campbell and C. Aubery; committee, Mesdames M. Nott, A. Hartshorne, M. O’Brien, B. Frederick and A. Cleghorn, Messrs T. Hatch, T. Anderson, E. Trott, and A. Cleghorn; secretarytreasurer. Mr McAlister; minute secretary, Mr Anderson. It was resolved to ask Mr F. F. Boustridge to accept the position of patron.
