The funeral of the late Helen McLennan left St. John’s Church on Friday, at 3 p.m. for Orowaiti Cemetery, where there was a large gathering of friends and representatives of various sporting bodies. Rev. H. J Flatt read the service at the church and at the graveside. The pall-bear-ers were Messrs V. Connell, T. Scanlon, S. Aitkinson and H. Bennett. Airways passengers: For Nelson: Mr A. Phillips: for Wellington: Mr .T. B. O’Regan, Mr T. C. Mcßean. Mrs R. J. Weenick. Mrs A. Johnson, Miss E. Rea.

The death occurred at Birchfield of a well-known and highly respected resident of that village, and formerly of Millerton, Mrs Eleanor Lynn Anderson, wife of Mr James Anderson. Aged 64 years, she was a native of Ashington, Northumberland, and had resided in New Zealand for many years. She leaves, besides her husband, three daughters, Mesdanies P. C. Hanson (Westport), C. G. Pomeroy (Auckland), and H. G. Shaw (Granity), and one son, Mr G. R. Anderson (Westport).
