U.S.A. DEMANDS WITHDRAWAL OF CZECH DIPLOMATS

FROM EMBASSY AT WASHINGTON (Rec. 8.10). NEW YORK. April 3. The United States has asked Czechoslovakia to recall two Czech officials who are assigned to the Czechoslovakian Embassy in Washington, says the United Press. In addition, the withdrawal of a third diplomat, belonging to an unspecified country “behind the iron curtain”, has been requested by the United States. In a Note delivered to the Czech Embassy, several days ago, the U.S. State Department said that Theo Florin, the First Secretary, and Dr Egzen Syrovatda, an attache, were persona non grata to the United States Government. ! The State Department gave no reason for this action, but one source said that it was based on “very serious considerations”.
