PA. AUCKLAND, April 2. The first round of the Victory golf tournament provided an upset in the professionals’ event. Yesterday’s winner of the 72-hole medal championship, Galloway, was drawn against Lambie, who qualified last. Lambie eliminated Galloway at the 18th. hole. It was Lambie's second sensational success this week, for on Monday at Palmerston North he defeated‘A. J. Shaw in the professional final. To-day’s scores were:— Professionals—First round: Lambie beat Galloway, 1 up; Dyke beat Weir, 1 up. Amateurs —First round: Johnston beat Woon, 5 and 4; Young beat Stevens, 1 up; Tyndall beat Kitto, 1 up; Bamfield beat Campbell. 4 and 3; Laycock beat Brewer, 5 and 4.
