NEW WOMEN’S INSTITUTES
Two new Institutes were recently formed in the West Coast Federation. On Monday, Mrs Baty, voluntary organiser, formed one at Kaiata. Mrs Longstaff, West Coast Federation president, presided over an attendance of 21 members. There were also present: Mesdames Dodd, Rose and Smart, members of the federation.
The following officers were elected President, Mi’s Cuthbert, vice-presi-dent Mrs Marsh, secretary Mrs Boyle, treasurer Mrs Faulkner, committee Mesdames Cameron, Norcliffe, 'Becker, Worsley and Cron. It was decided to hold evening meetings in the Kaiata School at 7.30 p.m. the third Monday in each month.
The following evening, Mrs Timlin formed a new Institute at Rapahoe, Mrs Longstaff presiding over an attendance of 13 members. Officers elected were: President Mrs Noble, vice-president Mrs Wilson secretary Mrs Sweeney, treasurer Mrs Clasper, committee, Mesdames Ellwood, Dunn Howard, Spruce, Thompson, Avery. It was decided lo' meet on the first Tuesday of each month in the Rapahoe Hall, at 7.30 p.m,
