CRICKET Wellington v. Manawatu

P.A. WELLINGTON, March 30. Wellington beat Manawatu by six wickets. Manawatu declared in its second innings at 180 for six, leaving Wellington 102 runs to get in an hour and a-half. Allen and Graham were kept subdued, particularly by Downes. The nAllen, O’Neill and Dempster delighted the spectators with bi)* hitting. When Downer, turned to bowl the last ball of the match to Dempster, Wellington needed two runs to win. Scores:— Manawatu, first innings, 155; second innings, 180 runs for six wickets, declared (Pollitt 41).
