Liking the look of Fairholme, who returned a dividend just on the century and. a-quarter mark in the Wairarapa Racing Club’s Easter Handicap, one Mastlerton resident who had had a successful day up to .this stage, decided to increase the amount of his usual investment, and placed £3 for a win and £2 for a place on his pick. His return when the 14/14 favourite came home by half a neck exceeded £4OO. The lucky investor called at the Southern Cross office this morning to order a large reproduction of the photograoh of the finish of the Easter Handicap' which appeared in Monday’s issue, saying that he wished to frame it as a permanent momento of the occasion.
