There were employment vacancies on the West Coast, yesterday for 181 workers—92 men and 89 women. Of the vacanciesT for’ Thales 75 were for skilled workers, 9 unskilled and 8 lor juveniles. In the female section there were vacancies for four skilled workers, 50 unskilled and 35 juveniles. During .March, the Greymouth office of .the Department of Labour and Employment placed thirty-two persons in permanent positions. Twenty-four of these were male workers, and eight female workers.
