No Russian Subs Off U.S. Coast ?

LONDON, March 29.

The Moscow radio to-day quoted a Tass news agency denial of reports that Russian' submarines were off American shores.

Last Thursday the United States Navy secretary, Mr Sullivan, stated that submarines “not belonging, to any nation west of the iron curtain” had been sighted off American shores.

The Tass News Agency said “Several American newspapers have taken up Mr Sullivan’s statement and are disseminating sensational rumours to the effect that Russian submarines have been sighted near the United States coasts. Tass has been authorised to deny these reports as anabsurd and grossly slanderous invention calculated to deceive American public opinion."
