Death of Count Plunket at 97

The death has occurred of Count George Noble Plunkett, an hereditary Papal count, Irish author, and politicial, who spent many terms in English and Irish prisons for his revolutionary activities. He was 97. _ Count Plunkett had a distinguished academic career. He was president ol the Academy of Christian Arf' vicepresident of the Catholic Poetry Society. a member of the Royal, Irish Academy, a former president ot the Royal Society of Antiquaries ot Ireland, an honorary associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects, and a director of the National Museum of Science and Art, Dublin. He was also asociated with many literary, antiquarian and philological organisations. He received a number of Papal honours for his work for the Catholic Church. He was a prolific author. . He was member of the House of Commons for North Roscommon irom 1917 to 1922 and for County Roscommon until 1927. He was at one time Eire Minister of Foreign Affairs and Fine .Arts under the Da|.
