P.A. INVERCARGILL, March 23. Batting first on Saturday, Otago scored 187, and Southland had lost •six for 105 at stumps. The Southland team was weakened by the absence of several of its best players, and its performance was creditable against Otago, which fielded a team of almost Flunket hield standard. The weather was line, and the wicket was in good order, but the outfield was inclined to be slow. Scores: — OTAGO (Ist innings) L. Watt, b O’Grady 10 R. A. Robinson, b G. W. Overton 12 W. A.
