STORM KILLS 108 PEOPLE IN UNITED STATES

(Received March 28, 5.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, March 27.

There are twenty-live dead, while hundreds have been injured, and eighteen are missing as the result of tornadoes which struck the States of Indiana, Illinois and Alabama yesterday. These casualties bring to one hundred and eight the total of persons dead and missing as the result, of tornadoes and of floods in the Southern and Mid-Western States during the last ten days. .

One tornado, which swept across West-central Indiana, left eleven dead in its path, with another four listed as missing. Another tornado, at Aliceville, in Alabama, struck twice and killed two and injured many. It demolished about twenty-five houses. It tore down power lines, and plunged the town in darkness.

The Indiana town of Coatesville, with a population of 350, is in ruins.
