ULSTER MIGRANTS OFFER FOR N.Z.
LONDON, March 26. Publicity campaigns in Northern Ireland, conducted by Mr I. Rennie Mr C. J. Hay and Miss R. T. Cameron, of the New Zealand Immigration Oilice, London, have resulted in a. record number of intending settlers to be interviewed. Mr M. C. Smith, the Chief Immigration Officer, said that at tiic end of February 1450 men and women were awaiting interview, 460 had been interviewed and recommended as settlers pending medical inspection, and another 460 had been selected and were waiting for shipping. To the end of February, 500 men and 600 women had sailed lor New Zealand under the immigration scheme. It is understood that this figure lias altered slightly since Hie end of February, but information cannot be given in London until sufficient time has elapsed for the Minister for Immigration, Hon. A. McLagan, to receive it first.
