FISHING BOAT SWEPT TO SEA WITH FATAL RESULT

P.A. TIMARU, March 26 Edward Jens Christian Jensen, aged 64, of 13 Baker -Street, Timaru. was drowned in the sea off the mouth of the Rangitata River on Thursday afternoon. Jensen was fishing, in company with Mr K. W. McCann, of Timaru, when an oar was lost, and a strong current swept the boat out to sea where it capsized. Both men clung to the upturned boat, but Jensen became exhausted, and he released his hold. McCann, by a determined effort was able to reach the shore. The body of Jensen was recovered this morning, about two miles south of the mouth.
