HOCKEY FIVE WEEKS’ TOUR BY AUSTRALIANS
WELLINGTON. March 24. An .Australian hockey team is expected to arrive in New Zealand before the end of July and remain for live weeks. It will play five Saturday and 12 mid-day matches. This was announced at the annual meeting of the Wellington Hockey Association by the secretary, Mr K. A. Falconer. He added that it was possible a test match would be played at Dunedin at the conclusion of the New Zealand tour, which it was hoped to hold in that city during the first week in August. COBDEN CLUB’S MEETING Mr M. Eatwell presided over a good attendance at the annuel meeting of the Cobden Flockey Club, when the- following officers were elected:—Patron, Mr J. S. Nimmo; president, Mr M. Eatwell (re-elect-ed); active vice-president, Mr I. Burn (re-elected); secretary-treasurer, Mr R. Beckman; delegates to the West Coast. Hockey Association, Messrs D. Nimmo. S. Hill and Eatwell; custodian, Mr D. Nimmo; club captain. Mr Nimmo; auditors, Messrs P. Clarke and Nimmo. New members nominated were R. Parmenter, M. Elley, N. Melrose, and S. Goodall. The annual report and balance sheet, which showed the club to be in a sound financial nosition were adopted. It was decided to nominate two senior teams again this season. TRINITY WOMEN’S CLUB Officers elected at the annual meeting of the Trinity Women’s Hockev Club were:— President, Miss I. Stewart; vicepresidents, eight elected; secretarytreasurer. Miss G. M. Fring; delegate to the association, Miss S. Jones. New members nominated to the club included Misses L. Butts. D. M. Perrin.
