22 MOA SKELETONS ARE DUG UP IN NORTH CANTERBURY

P.A. CHRISTCHURCH, February 3. Twenty-two- complete moa skeletons have been dug from a swamp in Pyramid Valley, in North Canterbury, in the last week, and the temporary Director of the Canterbury Museum, Mr W. R. B. Oliver, said to-day that a considerable field of valuable deposits Ind yet to be e:<ploited. Work has stopped in the meantime. Dr R. C. Murphy, the American scientist, has taken samples of the peat in which the skeletons have been remarkably preserved. He intends to have these samples analysea in America. _________________
