That the Grey Hospital staff had had all 13 of its candidates successful in the recent maternity nurses examinations was highly spoken of by members of the board at its meeting last night. The general nursing examinations had also been conducted successfully from the board’s point of view. In the maternity section the hospital attained the highest number of honours among all similar institutions in New Zealand. T>m secretary, Mr W. H. Watson said that of the • honours, gained in the maternity examination in the South Island, half had come to the GreyHospital. The board decided to write to the former Matron of the Maternity Annexe, Miss E. M. Julius, M.13.E. expressing its appreciation and congratulating her on her success in training the staff.
Advice that he was looking intt the question of providing a film projector for the settlers of South Westland was received from the Minister of Works, the Hon. R. Semple, at last evening’s meeting of the progress league. The league had previously made representations to Mr Semple..
