BUS RIPPED BY BULLDOZER BLADE IN COLLISION
SYDNEY, Jan. 29.
A clergyman was killed and six others injured in an unsual accident 20 miles south of Newcastle. A tourist bus carrying 20 passengers, returning to Brisbane from Melbourne after a holiday, was passing another vehicle on a narrow culvert. The other vehicle consisted of a motor trailer on which was a bulldozer. As’the bus passed the blade of the bulldozer ripped through the side ot the bus from the front to the rear, causing shocking injuries to some passengers. The Rev. Thomas Bibby, of Brisbane, was killed instantly and his wife suffered shock and cuts to the hand and face.

Steal Naval Barge SYDNEY, Jan. 29. Members of a cricket team from the naval transport “Kammbla , who came ashore at Balmoral, Sydney, in a landing barge, were startled to see their craft careering towards the. Heads. The water police later received a message that a barge* with two men aboard was proceeding up the harbour and gave chase with fast launches. Police radio cars, were a'so called into action and at one stage four of them were covering the bavs and possible landing places. The next report was from the South Head signal station which informed the police that the barge had gone out to sea and was three miles off the coast and proceeding south. It was subsequently sighted off Bondi. It was at last recovered, beached empty, in a small bay near Coogee. Residents later reported that the barge was stolen by two youths, who waded ashore after beaching it and disappeared.
